... It is a precisely planned act aimed at transforming current conditions into ideal ones. It is a crucial means of making social impact, especially in parts of world experiencing rapid development. As an industrial designer, it fascinates me to realize the unprecedented opportunities for individual empowerment, and in particular, for the people in my home country of Nepal.
My work as a social designer ranges from rural alternative energy solutions to chronic health-centered products focused on quality of life and well-being. Within these projects, I often find that my preconceived design solutions are challenged by ethnographic research of my subject and its context, revealing new and unexpected results.
Through these actions, I strive for my design solutions to reach a sublime synthesis of goals and means.
